How auctions work
PreviewRead this once and you know exactly what happens from the moment a lot is listed to the moment it is handed over.
1. An auction opens inside one world
Every lot belongs to a single Profile World — the artist, athlete, club, actor, creator or legend who provided it. Lots are described with a photo, a short provenance note and a starting bid. Nothing is listed without the world's approval.
2. The auction runs for a fixed window
Each auction has a published closing time, shown on the auction page in your own time zone. Bidding is open from the moment the auction shows as open until that exact closing time. When the window ends the auction closes automatically — there is no manual extension in this build.
3. Bids must beat the floor
Only the starting bid is shown publicly until bidding begins. Each new bid must be at least 100 above the current highest bid. Bids are binding intentions in a real deployment and cannot be withdrawn once placed. If you are outbid you receive a notification so you can decide whether to bid again.
4. The highest valid bid at closing wins
When the clock reaches zero the highest valid bid wins the lot. The winner is notified in-app, and the world's team contacts the winner about payment, shipping or — for experience lots — scheduling. Experience lots always depend on the world's own calendar.
5. Every winning bid is split transparently
A fixed share of each winning bid goes to the world, to the cause the world chose and to running Fanpodium. The split is published on the auction page before you bid, and verified charity payouts are listed publicly on the Charity page.

Auction rules
- You must be signed in to place a bid, and one account may not bid on behalf of another person.
- Bids must exceed the current highest bid by at least 100 in the lot's currency.
- Bids cannot be retracted. Fanpodium may cancel a bid that is clearly erroneous or fraudulent.
- Sniping protection, reserve prices and anti-shill checks are configured per world by Fanpodium HQ.
- Lots are sold as described. Provenance and condition notes come from the world providing the lot.
- Experience lots (meet-and-greets, set visits, soundchecks) are subject to availability, travel at the winner's cost and separate terms.
- In this preview build no payment provider is connected: bids, wins and settlements are recorded for demonstration only.
